Owain Harries started playing the trumpet at the age of 8 and had passed grade 8 of the Guildhall School of Music London with distinction by the age of fourteen in July 1998. |

| Owain was a member of the National Children's Orchestra and performed a solo with Evelyn Glennie and the N.C.O. in concert at the Bridgewater Hall Manchester in 1998. He was also a member of the National Children's Wind Ensemble and the National Schools Symphony Orchestra, During the summer of 1999 Owain performed as an actor/musician in acclaimed performances of "The Ragged Child" with the National Youth Music Theatre of Great Britain at the Edinburgh Festival, and the Aberdeen Youth Festival. In July 2001 Owain won the Solo Award in the Music for Youth National Festival at the South Bank Centre, London, and in May 2002 he won the Mark Jones Memorial Scholarship. |

In
September of 2000 he took up a specialist musician’s scholarship
at Wells Cathedral School (2000 - 2002) where he studied with Paul Denigree
and Simon Jones and enjoyed master class tuition with Ian Bousfield (L.S.O.
Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra), Ronald Barron (Boston Symphony & Boston
Pops Orchestras) and Sean Hook (R.T.E. Symphony Orchestra). He has completed three pantomime seasons at the Grand Theatre, Swansea and is currently working on the national tour of "Fame". Owain finds himself in demand as a free-lance player for orchestral work, big band and commercial work, functions, residencies, shows and tours. |
